or, Why Having Fun is So Crucial to Creativity - Flow state is that "in the zone" feeling that writers get. Here are tips for reaching that heightened state.
::Team Huey Lewis:: I’ve read that he was encouraged to ditch his bandmates for bigger stardom and he refused. I admire that.
In terms of flow—I’m not sure how to get there except just sit down already. There’s nothing quite like the feeling when I finally quit stalling and write a freaking scene already. Time disappears. I will also say it’s easier when I’ve done the “must do” things.
Yeah, I've heard that before about the "must do" things. Thankfully, that's something that hasn't been an issue with me, or I'd never get anything done!
I never heard that about Huey Lewis, but yeah, very cool. BTW, Ghostbusters came on CHCH TV last night, while I was having some flake time. Haven't seen it all the way through in years. (Sad to say that it doesn't quite hold up... not as I remember it, anyway!)
Interesting, though, breaking down the story beats in my head. Seems to hit the right marks!

Thanks Marion!

Another thoughtful piece, Graham. Keep ‘em coming!
Thanks, Terry!
