Windows 10! Seriously? And I thought I was the only one...

I went to quite a bit of handwringing when I had to replace my MacBook Air for a newer model after 12 years. Will everything work, what about my trusty version of Word, I don't want that AI crap they load in there, etc... It turned out to be seamless in the end. All good for another 12 year, lol!

I felt the same trepidation when I had to upgrade my MacBook Air to an OS 14.6, and I stretched it out as long as I could before attempting it. I hate having to face all new graphics and protocols, but I amazed myself. I am a (very, very) old woman with no particular expertise, but when I figured out how to transfer all my data to the new machine by myself, I elevated my status to genius (in my own mind). I have worked on a MAC since 1980...

Same here, since the Apple II in 1980, although I've had to be "hybrid" for some jobs (to my utter displeasure!). Now that I'm retired, I'm Apple only, yeah, part of the cult!

So jealous of you both!

When I started freelance writing, most of my clients were on IBM instead of Mac, so that was the obvious choice for me. I still miss my WordPerfect days -- another thing that went by the wayside since most clients moved to Word!

But ever since I saw my first Macintosh, I wished I could have worked on one! Back in the day, I had a C64 instead of an Apple IIe mostly because of price. These days, I have to make do with an iPhone and a really old iPad that probably doesn't work anymore... lol

Oh, there you go! So glad to hear it worked out for you!

Yes, the operating system itself is a tool too, isn't it? I find I'm losing more and more control over what my OS (Windows) will do. But I'm still fighting the good fight.

Plus, it's always fun getting a new laptop, isn't it?

It is fun, and I love the bigger screen. I thought it would be awkward to lug around (I take it everywhere), but I'm used to it now and the MacAir is light. Happy camper! I even converted hubby who's been a long time PC user. He now says he will never go back, lol.

My wife has a MacAir and (mostly) loves it. It's getting on in age and coffee spills, so it's slower than it should be. But yeah, I love Macbooks!
