You know, until you said that current events are more depressing/distracting than the pandemic and lockdowns (I’m paraphrasing your words), I hadn’t realized how true that is for me too. Thanks for that perspective.
For me, it's in part because I already worked from home. I was also comfortable socializing via Zoom.
The other thing is that, maybe more so, I was convinced we would come out the other side of COVID. I have a different, perhaps more pessimistic, view of global events this time around...
Same here re working from home and socializing. My attitude in the pandemic was, “we’re waiting for vaccines.” My attitude now is “I can’t predict so all I can do is my work.” I guess. For now.
Loved this post, Graham. It’s a good reminder to us all to experiment in how we write as we work toward refining our respective processes and discovering how each of us writes best. Great post.
Thanks Terry! Yeah, I find that I'm always refining the process. Not only does it help me write better, I think, but it helps keep it all fresh, which is important in any creative project!
An incredibly beautiful place to be writing from! 😍
A little chilly -- especially that weekend -- but yeah, it's easy to take all that open space for granted...

But hey, whatever. Let's talk about writing! lol
